Now at the tween years have more things on their mind than just rainbows and trains. This has to deal with peer pressure, puberty, also with trying to be popular. Which will be the cause of ten year olds wanting to become a teenager already? There are issues that an everyday child deals with on a daily basis. What is Peer pressure? Peer Pressure is the influence of people do try to. When you were a little kid, your parents usually chose your friends, putting you in play groups or arranging play dates with certain children they knew or liked. Now that youre older, you decide who your friends are and what groups you spend time with whether your parents like them or not. Parents may think their child is to be sweet, innocent, and always doing the right thing. When peer pressure comes along that goes downhill, it is a perception that changes when the parent is away from the child. Puberty is the physical change from a child to mature into a mature adult. With female tweens, they can develop breast, hair growth or many other physical changes. With males it is mainly voice changes or height changes. Puberty varies with the tween and can be a good thing or a bad thing for a tween to deal with. People use their popularity for good things for instance running for class president, or wanting a to win votes. Using your popularity of evil, can be like ââ¬Å"I run this entire school I am going to get it if I have to drop you off the face of the planet.â⬠Lots of popularity shows what type of person you are or if you want to be popular. In other words, Tweens have many things to worry about in elementary, middle and high school. From peer pressure tweens into drugs, sex, drinking alcohol or may other situations. Puberty in males and females for tweens at a young age, females in particular. Popularity at school which can be used for good and evil, or for votes to win an election. A key assumption in this theory is that economic actors will act to keep up with rising inflation rates. The triage tool which originated in the UK, Major Incident Medical Management and Support System (MIMMS), utilises the ââ¬Ësieve and sortââ¬â¢ of several physiological parameters to identify the priorities for treatment12. This triage system uses colour coding scheme to easily determine the different expectant category. The triage priorities and levels are separated into four different colours: Red (Immediate ââ¬â Life threatening), Yellow (Not Immediate ââ¬â Required medical intervention within 2-4 hours), Green (Minor Injuries ââ¬â Not life threatening) and Blue (Deceased or limited resources to save patient)12. When it comes to sorting the priority of a patient, further information must be obtained by recording Glasgow Coma Score (GCS), Respiratory Rate and Systolic blood pressure12. This information provides an accurate and assists with documentation of patients records. When implanted into a disaster situation, this triage would be reliable as well as fast, str uctured and easy to use. Recommendations for the countryââ¬â¢s incident triage system Haiti being one of the worlds the poorest country in the Western world may not have the readily available resources in disaster conditions. Although, method of allocating scarce resources was not reasonable, the country should have implemented the MIMMS triage tool throughout their disaster plan. The triage tool is fast, easy and reliable which provides maximal treatment to prioritised patients. As strategic disaster response become more regular, it is likely the study of disaster response would increase thus providing perceptions into disaster epidemiology that may guide response patterns in these circumstances. Conclusion Due to minimal resources triaging patients in Haiti was no simple task. The earthquakes devastated the lives of many and prompt that triaging in a major disaster needs to be improved to a standard. Silas Marner :: essays research papers
Characterization George Elliot's Silas Marner tells a tale of basic human nature depicted through the words and actions of the characters. The characterization presented throughout Silas Marner is enhanced with the uses of point of view, human understanding, and literary devices. Using these techniques, she creates believable characters that develop along with the plot to create a story line that, not only seems real, but also appeals to the human senses of understanding and sympathy. George Elliot chose to write Silas Marner in the omniscient point of view (Holland, 57), meaning that the action could be viewed from any angle. In doing so, she creates an atmosphere in which any character is given the opportunity to display his or her feelings toward one another. This decision allows the reader to better understand why the characters feel the ways they do, because their reasoning is shown in their conversations and actions with others. Also, it allows the reader to realize that the characters' actions are dependent on the consequences one could face at the time it was written. This gave way for a more personal character to develop, because no one person was describing him or her. Certain traits are left for the reader to develop on his own. Since Elliot chose to write in the omniscient point of view, she allows herself to control certain traits about each character through her use of narration. This is essential in presenting certain knowledge to the reader that not every character is aware of. Therefore, a strong presence of irony exists within the novel, and is displayed numerous times. One such situation continually represented is the knowledge that Eppie is the daughter of Godfrey Cass and his secret wife who died in the snow. The fact that no one knows of this situation, besides Godfrey, are the source of much irony and eventually the climax of the novel. Another example f dramatic irony is that the reader knows, from the minute of its occurrence, that the robbery is the doing of Dunstan Cass. However, no one in the novel is presented with these details. This concealing of information is the source of much irony within Silas Marner. Along with point of view, literary devices are used to create and develop characters throughout Silas Marner. The use of speech is the most prevalent device found within the novel. The speech patterns of the "common man" are noticeably different from those of the "proper.

1. What is the problem statement in the following situation? Employee Loyalty Companies benefit through employee loyalty. Crude downsizing in organizations during the recession crushed the loyalty of millions. The economic benefits of loyalty embrace lower recruitment and training costs, higher productivity of workers, customer satisfaction, and boost the morale of fresh recruits. In order that these benefits may not be lost, some companies, while downsizing, try various gimmicks. Flex leave, for instance, is one. This helps employees receive 20% of their salary, plus employer-provided benefits while they take a 6-12 month sabbatical, with a call option on their services. Sleepless Nights at Holiday Inn Just a few years ago, Tom Oliver, the Chief Executive of Holiday Hospitality Corp., was struggling to differentiate among the variety of facilities offered to clients under the Holiday flagship ââ¬â the Holiday Inn Select designed for business travelers, the Holiday Inn Express used by penny pinchers, and the Crowne Plaza Hotels, the luxurious hotels meant for the big spenders. Oliver felt that revenues could be quadrupled if only clients could differentiate among these. Keen on developing a viable strategy for Holiday Hospitality which suffered from brand confusion, Tom Oliver conducted a customer survey of those who had used each type of facility, and found the following. The consumers didnââ¬â¢t have a clue as to the differences among the three different types. Many complained that the buildings were old and not properly maintained, and the quality ratings of service and other factors were also poor.à Furthermore, when word spread that one of the contemplated strategies of Oliver was a name change to differentiate the three facilities, irate franchises balked. Simultaneously, he recognized that unless the franchise owners fully cooperated with him in all his plans, mere face lifting and improvement of customer service would not bring added revenues. Problem Statement: How can brand awareness be brought about to increase the revenues of Holiday Inn? Hypotheses 1. The more differentiated the building facilities, the more the brand awareness. 2. The more differentiated the maintenance of the facilities, the more the brand awareness. 3. The more differentiated the services to the clients, the more the brand awareness. 4. Differentiated building facilities, maintenance, and service will influence brand awareness only if the Franchise owners cooperate and actively promote the idea of differentiation. If they donââ¬â¢t, no amount of differentiation of the three independent variables will help clients to understand the differentiation (increase brand awareness).
